After getting into a heated altercation with his fellow officer, a police officer in Kebbi State attacked and killed his colleague.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abdullahi Garba is being accused of using scissors to stab his colleague, Assistant Superintendent of Police Shu’aibu Sani-Malunfashi, in the left rib.

In a statement, the Officer in Charge of Public Relations for the Kebbi State Police, DSP Nafi’u Abubakar, claimed that the two individuals got into a physical conflict in front of ASP Garba’s business after they had an argument.
According to Abubakar, Ahmed Magaji-Kontagora, the Commissioner of Police for the State of Kebbi, has given the order for an inquiry to be conducted into the events that led up to the occurrence.
He said,
The Chief of Police has issued a statement condemning the sad event, stating that it goes against the training, act, and rules of the Police Force, in addition to other applicable laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
It was on October 1st, 2022 that the incident took place. During the altercation, ASP Abdullahi Garba used scissors to stab ASP Shu’aibu Sani-Malunfashi in the left rib. The injury required medical attention.
“Immediately after receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Argungu made a hasty trip to the location, apprehended the insubordinate officer, and retrieved the stolen exhibit” (weapon).
Sadly, a medical practitioner at Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital in Birnin Kebbi determined that ASP Shu’aibu Sani Malunfashi had passed away before he could be brought there.

“As a direct result of this, the negligent police officer, ASP Abdullahi Garba, was promptly taken into custody and imprisoned at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is located in Birnin Kebbi.
The case has also been sent to the homicide division for a covert inquiry so that the circumstances behind the heinous event can be uncovered.
