Thomas Tuchel is taking his pre match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s game against Southampton this weekend, and the boss has reported on two new injuries for his group.
According to Tuchel, both Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech missed training yesterday with minor issues, and are doubts for tomorrow’s game.
He also reported on Callum Hudson-Odoi, who he said had had a setback in his injury, and would be out for a matter of weeks rather than days. As many fans have, he lamented the timing of this recent spate of injuries for the winger, who he pointed out had been set for his most consistent season yet in terms of starts.
There’s plenty of time for him to come back later this season, but if this keeps him out for a few weeks as expected, it’s hard to see there being much time to regain match fitness and Tuchel’s trust in time to make much of an impact.
