Ways To Apply For ‘No-Interview’ US Visa Renewals In Nigeria was announced by the US Mission in Nigeria which was an expansion of its visa services to assist non-immigrant visa applicants who are eligible to renew their visas.

This new application process has start in February at the US Consulate in Lagos and will be expanded to the US Embassy in Abuja shortly after.

In a statement released, the mission stated, “The number of qualified individuals who can apply utilizing the revised processes will be limited at first.”

How to apply for the no-interview visa renewal

If you apply for a B1/B2, F, M, J (academic only), H, L, or C1/D (combined only) visa and meet each of the following conditions, you may be eligible for a visa renewal without an interview.

Your previous visa was issued by the Nigerian government;

Your previous visa application has the same categorization as your present one;

Your previous visa was a multiple-entry, full-validity visa;

Your previous visa has expired or will expire within the following three months from the date of application;

You have all of your passports, including the one with the most recent visa, that cover the complete period since you received the previous visa.

You have never been arrested or convicted of a crime or offense in the United States, even if a waiver or pardon was granted later; and

You have never worked without authorization or stayed in the United States for longer than your visa allowed.

Please keep in mind that the program’s processing times could take up to two months, and you won’t be able to pick up your passport during that time.

Each applicant must meet the criteria on their own; minors can only apply without an interview if they meet the eligibility requirements on their own.

Emergency Appointments

You may seek an expedited, in-person interview if you have a life-or-death emergency, but appointments will be limited to facilitate No-Interview Visa Renewals.

Conferences, marriages, and graduations aren’t considered emergencies.
