Tobi Amusan’s new World Record in the women’s 100m hurdles has been confirmed by World Athletics.
Amusan set the record in July at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Oregon, USA.
The 25-year-old is now the country’s first World Record holder.

Amusan set a new World Record of 12.12 in the semi-finals, breaking the previous time of 12.20 set by Kendra Harrison of the United States in London in 2016.
Following that outstanding performance, the talented athlete won the final with a wind-assisted 12.06 (2.5m/s).
In the 100m hurdles heat, Amusan set an African record of 12.40 seconds.
