Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, commissioned today the Yaba bus terminal. In terms of design and physical appeal, the station is the most modern of all bus terminals.
The water-proof fabric of white Teflon gives this terminal a unique look and is complementary to our rail infrastructure, just on the horizon, Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT).
The current Yaba Train Station is part of the Yaba Bus terminal and thus makes Yaba a major transport interchange.
To the left, there is Murtala Muhammed Way, where the overpass bridge over the railways will take off into Ojuelegba Road.
The crossing bridge is the answer to the government’s abolition of train accidents at crossings.
It has a generator house with a 200KVA generator and 500KVA transformer, a muster point in case of emergency, a pedestrian walkway, external lighting, Traffic system management (TSM), and signage among others.
Terminal Building consists of:
• Ticketing Area and sitting area
• Restaurant area with kitchenette
• Commercial stores:
• Control room
• Passenger information display board
• ATM point
• Sit out area on the first floor
The buses from the Yaba Bus Terminal shall run the following routes:
- Yaba – Lawanson – Itire Ijesha – Cele
- Yaba – Iyana-Ipaja
- Yaba – Berger
- UNILAG – Yaba
- Ikeja – Yaba – Oyingbo
