A young man stabbed to death on an Adelaide street is being remembered as a generous soul who had a love for skateboarding.
Will Holdback, 21, was found unresponsive in the middle of Barrpowell Street in Welland early yesterday morning.
Police are focusing on identifying a car that was seen picking up the suspected attacker moments after Holdback was stabbed.
Crime Stoppers has received 13 calls so far but no arrests have been made.
Investigators have appealed for anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage of the car’s movements to come forward.
Holdback is being remembered by friends as a loving young man who was taken too soon.
One friend told 9News he had “a love for skating, art, photography, cars and adventuring”.
“He also had a very kind and loving soul and was a very generous person,” the friend said.
His former high school, Concordia College, also remembered Holdback for his kindness, creativity and resilience.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Will’s family,” the school said in a statement.
“We extend our deepest condolences to them during this incredibly difficult time.”
Detective Superintendent Des Bray said yesterday Holdback was believed to have known his killers and most likely arranged to meet them for what appeared to be a “clandestine meeting”.
“These people are pathetic, you know, they’ve taken a young man’s life and I think when we get to the bottom of it, it will be just a senseless murder for something trivial,” he said.
