Kanu Nwankwo, Daniel Amokachi, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and others set to participate in Troost Ekong Foundation fundraiser
All roads lead to Uyo in Akwa Ibom state on June 2, as Super Eagles captain William Troost Ekong officially launches his foundation with a fundraising charity match, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 30-year-old athlete recently opened up about Nigeria’s loss in the final match of the 2023 AFCON tournament and how it has made him hungrier to win the trophy.
Meanwhile, Ekong is set to officially kickoff the activities of his foundation with a fundraiser in June. The football star took to Instagram earlier in March to announce the start of this non-profit organization which is committed to empowering Nigerian and African youth.
The charity match, which will hold at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, will see several public figures from different works of life come together for a good cause.
Various celebrities like renowned TV host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Afrobeats artiste Odumodu Blvck have taken to social media to confirm their attendance.
Beloved Nigerian football stars like Stanley Nwabali, Calvin Bassey as well as Super Eagles legends Kanu Nwankwo and Daniel Amokachi will also be participating in the fundraiser.
The PAOK F.C defender remains committed to making impact beyond the pitch, even as fans and followers eagerly look forward to his great comeback.
