Nigerian singer Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, popularly known as KCee visited legendary high-life musician Mike Ejeagha to pay homage to his contribution to the music industry.
The visit, Friday in Enugu, was also to seek permission to sample the viral phrase “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo” – off the track Ka Esi Le Onye Isi Oche – on his upcoming album.
The song gained popularity due to a viral dance challenge initiated by comedian Brain Jotter whose real name is Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie.
During the visit, KCee conveyed his deep respect and appreciation for Ejeagha, acknowledging the profound influence of his work.

Furthermore, KCee requested the legendary singer’s consent to incorporate a sample of the now-viral track into his forthcoming album, demonstrating a commitment to honoring the pioneers of Nigerian music.
The popular song simply tells the story of how a cunning tortoise outsmarted the powerful elephant, in exchange for the hand of the princess in marriage.
The tortoise is a recurrent figure in Igbo folklore, often described as clever and shrewd.
This collaboration aims to blend KCee’s contemporary sound with Ejeagha’s timeless high lifestyle, paying homage to Nigeria’s rich musical heritage.
Brain Jotter on the other hand recently pledged a sum of N2 million to the artist as a token of appreciation for the challenge’s success.
