Man sought by police over attempted child abduction in Melbourne
Police are investigating an attempted child abduction in Melbourne’s east last month.
Events unfolded when an unknown man in a grey Audi Q3 SUV approached an 11-year-old girl who was walking home from school along Landscape Drive in Doncaster East about 2.40pm on Thursday, March 28.
The man was driving east along the road, when he performed a U-turn and stopped a short distance from the girl.
Police have been told he ordered the girl to get into the vehicle, but she ran away and hid in nearby bushes.
Detectives believe the Audi then drove south on Taurus Road.
The girl sought help from a nearby resident and was not physically injured.
Police have released a computer-generated image of a man they believe may be able to help with their inquiries.
He is perceived to be Middle Eastern in appearance with tan skin, black hair, a black beard, and a moustache.
He was wearing sunglasses with brown lenses and a grey T-shirt.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or with other information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
