A 32-year-old man will appear in court today, charged with deliberately ramming a police car in Sydney overnight, allegedly injuring a senior police officer.
Officers were called to a house on Marsden Avenue in Kellyville over welfare concerns for a resident.
When they arrived, a man driving a ute allegedly rammed a marked NSW police car twice.
One of the officers, a chief inspector with the Hills district police, suffered minor injuries but was able to call for urgent assistance and apprehended the man.
The 32-year-old was arrested and taken to Castle Hill Police station, where he was charged with predatory driving, assaulting police, dangerous driving, and consuming alcohol while driving.
He was refused bail overnight and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
The chief inspector was attended at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital for treatment.
