Officers responded to reports an armed man was holed up inside a Garfield Road home on Wednesday afternoon.
Police were first called to the property about 3pm.
Garfield Road was closed between Connor Street and Charles Avenue, with members of the public urged to avoid the area.
“We’re not concerned [about] danger to the wider public here, we’re just exercising caution, obviously making sure people stay away from the area and allow us to do our job,” Laurie Shevlin from Queensland Police said.
