Young teenagers caught in allegedly stolen family Kia in Wollongong

A 13-year-old boy is facing children’s court after a police pursuit in Wollongong, New South Wales.

Police spotted an allegedly stolen Kia driving along Emerson Road at Dapto, NSW Police Traffic and Highway Patrol Command posted on Facebook yesterday.

The Kia allegedly accelerated to more than double the speed limit when police attempted to pull it over.

Officers halted the pursuit and locked the area down.

The Kia was found abandoned nearby.

A 13-year-old boy, with two other juveniles aged 12 and 13, were found in the laundry of a house nearby.

Police said all three were on bail for similar offences and had been ordered to not associate with one another.

They were referred to the local children’s court, where the 13-year-old alleged boy driver was refused bail.

His two alleged passengers were released on bail.
